| Muppet Christmas Carol is one the literary
masterpieces of Charles Dickens made into a film. It was the fourth
feature film to star The Muppets.
One of the most popular films, the basic plot of the film is known
to most of the people. A very rich but not so kind man, Ebenezer
Scrooge, hates Christmas and only unwillingly agrees to let his
employees have the day off work. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited
by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, who tells him
that three other ghosts, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost
of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future, will be
visiting that night. The ghosts showed Scrooge different things
in an attempt to make him to mend his ways before it was too late.
All characters of the film show sincerity, tenderness, and humour
toward the festive season. The story line of the film is such that
it can be followed by people of all ages. Academy Award–winner
Michael Caine stars as Ebenezer Scrooge, the petulant penny pincher
who understands the true meaning of Christmas when he takes a thrilling
journey with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Full
of revelations, surprises and whimsical fun, The Muppet Christmas
Carol celebrates the festive spirit with the distinctive blend of
laughter and love that can be provided by the Muppets only.
It can be said with absolute certainty that Muppet Christmas Carol
is the most outstanding rendition of Charles Dickens classic. Suited
for young and old alike, the film has great soundtrack. The lyrics
are wonderful and amazing.
