Christmas holidays
Christmas is celebrated in
most parts of the world on 25 December. While Protestant and Roman
Catholic churches hold Christmas Day services on 25 December,
the Eastern churches - the Ethiopian Orthodox church, Russian
Orthodox church and the Armenian church - celebrate Christmas
on 6 or 7 January.
Christmas holidays are a joyous time when families and friends
come together to celebrate the season. The celebration is marked
with the exchange of gifts, and is a time for family unity. It
is also the time of year where families and friends are most generous
and practice the tradition of gift giving. It should be a special
and happy time for all of us.
For many, Christmas is an opportunity to re-establish ties with
their homeland.
Christmas is a major festival that is celebrated all over the
world. Houses are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind.
Celebrations focus on lights and lamps, particularly traditional
Christmas Tree.
